Writer

Follow my work in Science Fiction and Fantasy. I have several published novels, working with different commercial franchises, my own Wisimir Series and a selection of short stories set in the alternative history town of Durrington.

Lecturer

I teach on the successful Batchelor of Arts (Honours) Film and TV Production degree at Buckinghamshire New University.

Musician

I have composed music for award winning short films and also work on soundtracks for audio dramas with the Radio Theatre Workshop.

About me

Here's a little about who I am.

Bio

I've been a University Lecturer from Bucks New University in High Wycombe for twelve years. I run the successful, Film and TV Production degree and also teach Creative Writing. I've taught a module in Writing Fantasy for nine years and have a Masters Degree in Science Fiction and Fantasy world-building. I also write music and have composed work that has featured in award winning short films.

Current Projects

I worked on Elite Dangerous as a concept writer and official novellist, developing background material and guidebooks for the design team. My official Science Fiction novel Elite: Lave Revolution was published in 2014.

I'm currently working on music for the audio versions of all the Elite Dangerous fiction being produced by Fantastic Books Publishing.

New Projects

I'm the official novellist for legendary game designer Julian Gollop's new project - Chaos Reborn.

I'm also one of the four hosts of the Lave Radio podcast - an audio show following the development of Elite: Dangerous.

What I do

Topics of interest

Academia

I am an active researching academic with articles and papers available online. My research involves techniques to develop consist world environments in which people create for a variety of mediums. This enables transmedia storytelling, a term coined by renowned academic Henry Jenkins. I am currently studying a PhD at the University of Winchester.

Practice

I have worked as a process adviser and concept writer, allowing creative teams to shape their ideas. I am currently working on several creative fiction projects. I think this is important to inform my critical thinking. In 2014 and 2015 I was nominated by Bucks New University for the National Teaching Fellowship, run by the Higher Education Academy.

Support

I am available as a professional editor and writer to assist with your projects. My CV is here. I edited and produced the ebooks of my father's series - The Adventures of Ozzy the Pig. I have worked with new author T. James on his Elite novel, 'Out of the Darkness' and have advised other writers who have gone on to acquire agents and publishers.
